I found the food to be excellent. Perhaps he and his wife should take a trip to Italy where they can perhaps find a ristorante more to their liking. I have had all of the dishes he and his wife had and mine were superb. I have traveled throughout Italy and I would put Cucins Vanina right up there on my list of many ristorants I ate at in Italy. I give it 8.5/10
Barbara Van AsdlanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3938226998477267402.post-58352394708087635352014-03-02T12:27:55.837-08:002014-03-02T12:27:55.837-08:00I went with my law school dean while he was in tow...I went with my law school dean while he was in town recruiting and some alumni, I agree not that great, especially considering the priceAmyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02824949517386108094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3938226998477267402.post-43462966600658030792013-11-19T15:47:35.911-08:002013-11-19T15:47:35.911-08:00I completely agree with this review. I've had some truly excellent meals there - a few months after they opened and were super keen.

Perhaps their intent was to focus on the cuisine of their home, but have fell into the trap of tweaking their menu increasingly to local palates, thereby getting so far away from their original goals they miss the mark massively.

I'm still crying inside from the time I ate at Banana Leaf in Provo (Singapore restaurant) when they said they stopped serving Singapore Noodles as customers kept expecting spaghetti.GastronomicSLC.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03209126498484031557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3938226998477267402.post-40590269071217635232013-06-14T08:03:17.593-07:002013-06-14T08:03:17.593-07:00Boom! I got a French Dip (they call it a Beef Dip, must not like the French) and it had to be the best dip sandwich I've ever had, until I tried the Philadelphian's French Dip. Fantastic bun, more beef than you ever saw in a dip sandwich. So this weekend we went to Vegas again and had to go to the sandwich shop at the Wynn. Got the dip sandwich and it looked like the little brother to the big brother Philadelphian. Plus, it was $13, just for the sandwich. Some are saying in their post the thinly cut beef is dry or tasteless. Try the French Dip and for the money, the best you will ever have. A Greek family ran the market and maybe still does. I think it was Jim Savas family, but he was in Elaine's class and she can tell you if that's the right name. Next time you go, ask if the Savas's still run it. McKinley Elementary school that we all attended (except Lenore) was across the street to the east where the O.C. Tanner jewelry company is now.
